Daniel Greer the revered Rabbi is the founder of Yeshiva of New Haven School in Connecticut. He is an extremely compassionate man playing an active and positive role in the community development of the orthodox Jews in the New Haven neighborhoods and across the US. The Rabbi has high involvement in the civic aspects of the community. Through the years, he has given immense efforts to improve the neighborhood of Edgewood, the location of the school Yeshiva of New Haven. While doing that he has also received multiple awards for his commitment to the development and the well-being of the community.
For years, much of the Edgewood neighborhood remained neglected, rife with crime and little education. Daniel Greer saw the potential for much improvement and dedicated himself to the betterment of the people in general and the community as a whole. He worked in close association with the various volunteers, designers, and architects for effective infrastructure building. Through his untiring efforts and by bringing in the community support, he has been instrumental in infusing positivity and life to this area.
People of New Haven have recognized his tireless efforts and the Preservation Society in New Haven have lauded his work on 2 separate occasions. Daniel Greer considers it his privilege to go in collaboration with many talented people that devote much effort and hours of hard work in the restoration processes. On a number of occasions, these craftspeople reproduced vintage wood and copied intricate designs from the original plaster. He considers this an honor for Yeshiva to be a part of such projects.
