Daniel Greer brings in a strong sense of aesthetics in his works as far as the neighborhood of Edgewood Park and New Haven Yeshiva was concerned. He followed crucial pieces of advice especially the one presented by Late Art Ratner. His watchword was “softening the existing urban environment”. It was Greer who paid active heed to his advice and consistently incorporated his efforts of landscaping in the backyard of the Building of Roger Sherman. This is also the place where New Haven’s Yeshiva was located even the complete “Asphalt Jungle” was replaced with grass that was lush green He saved up on all playground equipment that are vintage elements from 1950’s and planted arborvitae besides hemlock across the entire perimeter. Hence a gentle green border was presented to the yard that could be visibly green all year round.
Best upgrades
One of the most notable upgrades of Yeshiva was the comer patch far away, that is now the sitting area. Visually it appears to be one park inside another park. Landscaping was done with deciduous trees that were gracious along with white birches standing. A very old-fashioned lamp as well as park bench adorned the area and made transformed the place into a place for afternoon reading as well as private conversation. After the yard of Yeshiva underwent completion, Daniel Greer veered his attention towards a building’s side on Norton Street. He made arrangements for replacing the asphalt and concrete with flowering as well as grass bushes.
Softening the look
He indeed acted on the watchword and has made wonderful transformations that uplift the environment.
